Cold chain for catering
Meal distribution from a central kitchen at a hospital or a catering facility is done using insulated trolleys that are strictly maintained at a constant refrigerated temperature between 1 and 3°C for food safety reasons. Air Liquide's innovative cold chain solution uses liquid carbon dioxide as a refrigeration medium which is injected directly into specifically designed trolleys prior to meal distribution. This environmentally friendly solution eliminates the need for mechanical refrigeration on the trolleys, reduces electricity usage and provides a significant noise reduction that is well-suited for nursing homes and hospital environments.
