Inerting, blanketing and sparging

Inerting, blanketing, and sparging are three common ways to combat oxidation, which occurs when moisture and oxygen contaminate the empty headspace around a product. Replacing the atmospheric oxygen with high-purity nitrogen fills the empty headspace with a dry, inert gas.
